The 2022 season is underway for our Montana Griz football squad. With an impressive curb-stomping of Northwestern State last Saturday that ended in a 47-0 blowout, the Zootown home team looks to continue their winning ways in their second home game of the season hosting the South Dakota Coyotes on September 10th.

The forecast looks good for the Griz: South Dakota got whalloped on September 3rd, getting shutout by Missouri Valley favorites Kansas State. The Coyotes only managed 270 total yards of offense and went 0-4 on 4th downs.

Meanwhile, the future looks bright for the Griz and emerging star QB Lucas Johnson, who dazzled the home crowd at Washington Grizzly Stadium in his debut; he threw four touchdowns and rushed for a team-high 76 yards. Head coach Bobby Hauck was impressed with his QB's play:

“I didn’t tell him this, but first quarter he threw a couple really nice passes and then he took off and ran for a first down, and I just said, ‘Man, we got the right guy in the program,' I’m glad he’s with us.”
