Keali’i Ah Yat Could Chase Down Some Legendary Griz QBs

Montana Grizzly quarterback Keali'i Ah Yat enters his second season as the full-time starting quarterback. Last year's numbers were eye-popping for Ah Yat. He threw for 33 touchdowns, over 4000 yards, and added 8 touchdowns on the ground.

What does he have in store for us in year two? We'll find out soon enough.

Not that Ah Yat is record chasing, per se, but he has a chance to move up the all-time passing touchdown leaderboard at the University of Montana. He enters tied for 10th this year with 41 touchdowns along with Griz great Brad Lebo. If he puts up an identical year compared to last, he could move up to 4th place.

To tie his dad's 89 career touchdowns, Ah Yat would need 48 this season. To tie Dave Dickenson's school record of 96, he'd need 55.

Which is doable, by the way. Six FCS quarterbacks have thrown for 55+ touchdowns in a season (last done in 2022 by Tim DeMorat of Fordham and Lindsey Scott of Incarnate Word).
