There are many essential jobs that contribute to our state's functioning but often go unnoticed. If these jobs were to disappear, the impact would be felt immediately. One such vital service is waste removal. If that job were to stop it would quickly become an issue everywhere including Montana.

When it comes to cleanliness, some places stand out. Montana boasts one such area, as evidenced by Waste Removal USA's list of the "Top 100 Cleanest Streets in America." Determined through a survey of 3,000 respondents, East Main Street in Bozeman, Montana, proudly secured a spot on this prestigious list, ranking at a commendable number 13.

Working in waste management in Montana is not easy. The weather can be extreme and unpredictable. Even though technology has changed with the addition of trucks that can pick up residential cans, there are still a lot of workers that ride on the back of the trucks to get the job done, and that can't be easy in Montana.

This summer hasn't been an easy one for the waste management teams in Western Montana. We have seen some historic storms that have caused all kinds of issues with debris and garbage. Everything from tree debris to garbage being spread over neighborhoods, but they have been doing their best. Here is a tip that I found out about a few years ago. If you need to throw away an old garbage can, you can put it out with a note attached for them to dispose of it, and they will.
