Surprising Montana Town Makes Best Fall Destination List
When it comes to lists of some of the best places in Montana, it's usually the same places that make the lists. Normally you will see Bozeman, Missoula, and Billings on those lists, most of the time it isn't too surprising. But every once in a while there is a Montana place on a list that is surprising.
Airbnb recently released a list of the best fall destinations and one Montana town made the list. Fall is a magical time of the year in Montana, the fall foliage is spectacular, and the weather cools down. Fall is a shoulder season, a time between peak and off-peak tourism. We don't usually have as many tourists as other times of the year.
Airbnb looked at a few different trends. When it comes to affordable offseason destinations there are few close to Montana that made their list, like Spokane, Washington and Cheyenne, Wyoming.
Airbnb Lists Columbia Falls, Montana as Popular Fall Spot
Airbnb has listed the top three states with the highest number of visits in the fall, North Dakota, Maine, and Massachusetts. One of the top cities where people stay using Airbnb, in the fall is Columbia Falls, Montana. That's a town that doesn't usually get much recognition on national lists. It makes sense to be included on the list with it's proximity to Glacier National Park, which is an amazing place to experience in the fall.
The top trending international fall location for Americans to visit, is Japan. They cite the fall foliage across the country and the weather is mild enough to enjoy outdoor activities. I've heard that Japan is an amazing place to visit, I don't think I will be going there any time soon. In the mean time I will take a trip to Columbia Falls and experience fall for myself.
