Lower Miller Creek Road Will Close Again This Week

If you’ve been driving through the Lower Miller Creek area lately, you may feel like there's been construction on this road for a long time. 

Recent Water Main Replacement

Earlier this summer, crews were replacing a water main in the area near Linda Vista Golf Course, and Lower Miller Creek Road was restricted to one-way traffic for what seemed like weeks. 

Upcoming Road Closures

Now, there’s another short-term closure coming up in the same area. 

The City of Missoula Public Works and Mobility Contractors are planning to mill and pave the road on Lower Miller Creek Road, conditions permitting. This work is essentially the follow-up to the earlier project. 

Important Closure Dates and Details

The road will be fully closed to traffic both day and night from Wednesday, September 16 through Friday, September 18. The target is to have everything completed by the end of Friday. 

The closure will affect Lower Miller Creek Road from Linda Vista Boulevard to Lamoreux Lane, with both lanes closed through the work zone. 

Drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes, including Linda Vista Boulevard and Upper Miller Creek Road. 

Accommodations for School Buses and Emergency Vehicles

School buses and emergency vehicles will be flagged through the work zone as needed. 

The good news for golfers is that Linda Vista Golf Course will remain accessible during the construction. 

Follow-Up Work on the Sewer Trench

This work is essentially the follow-up to the earlier project. Crews will mill and repair the trench that was created when the sewer main was installed. 

So, if Lower Miller Creek is part of your normal route, expect another detour this week. 

Hopefully, this one really is just for a few days.
