Missoula’s Splash Decks and Lazy River Are Open for Summer Fun

For the time being Western Montana's rivers are still running high and fast, with a lot of debris. It shouldn't be long before the river levels will drop and will be filled with rafters, tubers, and boaters.

Until then the heat keeps coming and we need a way to cool down. For those looking for something a little on the tame side, Missoula's Splash Decks have been open since the end of May.

If you would rather spend some time on the "Lazy River" at Splash Montana then it's time to make your plans. Missoula Parks and Recreation's summer hours for Splash Montana are in place this Friday.

Missoula's Splash Decks are located throughout town, and are great places to run through the water and cool down. They are connected to some of Missoula's parks and are fun places to bring the kids on a hot summer's day.

There have been some mechanical issues with Splash's 50-meter pool, and it is currently closed for repairs. For updates on the status of that particular pool you can check back at the Parks and Recreation website.

The summer hours begin this Friday, June 13 with two daily sessions.

• Mon-Fri 11 a.m.-3 p.m. & 3:30 p.m.- 7:30 p.m.
• Sat-Sun 11 a.m.-2 p.m. & 2:30 p.m.- 5:30 p.m.

During the month of July, Splash will have adult nights for those 18 years and over on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 7-9 p.m.

Missoula is lucky to not only have Splash Montana, but we have the Currents Aquatic Center. That's open year-round for those that just have to get wet no matter what the weather outside is.

With the early high temperatures we’ve already had, it looks like our rivers and Splash Montana will have a busy season. Be safe out there and enjoy.
