Farmer’s Almanac Has Montana’s Peak Fall Foliage Dates
There is a tree outside my work window and every day the leaves are changing color as the weather shifts. Fall in Montana is my favorite time of the year. There are many reasons why, but one that stands out to me the most is it is just beautiful. One Montana town, that typically dosen't make lists, was listed by Airbnb as one of the best destinations for the fall.

Depending on your location in Montana, parts of the state will lose up to 100 minutes of daylight in September as we head towards fall. The Autumnal Equinox is September 22, 2024. The beginning of November will also see Montana "fall back" with the time change as we go back to Mountain Standard Time.

The Old Farmer's Almanac has the dates for 2024's peak fall foliage viewing in Montana and it will be happening sooner than you might realize. The dates are based on reports from Almanac readers across the country. For a majority of Montana the peak viewing time will be mid-September to mid-October. For most of Montana, by the time we reach Halloween the peak viewing will be over.
