How many of you play Wordle? If you have no idea what Wordle is, let me fill you in.
Wordle is a game constructed by the New York Times. By the way, the Times has some stellar games. I don't even mean this as an unpaid endorsement. Their games are just flat-out great. Of course, it starts with the NYT Crossword, which is iconic and enough on its own.
But then you have Connections, Spelling Bee, Sudoku, and more. I'm telling you, it's a great site to play games on.
Ok, that's enough of the drooling. Let's get down to brass tacks.
I received an email that listed the hardest Wordle puzzle of the year in every state in America.

The numbers were based on how often players searched for Wordle hints.

The word that stumped Montanans the most in 2025 was... PATCH.
"Patch" was the word of the day on April 20, 2025. That seems a little sketchy. The word that tripped Montanans up the most was "April 20," also known as 4/20.
National Stoner's Day! That's just downright funny.
The top 5 hardest Wordle puzzles in America were DOWEL on May 11, FUGUE on November 9, GNOME on July 13, WHOLE on July 27, and ROUGH on June 1.
