From locally-owned to franchised locations, there is no doubt that Missoula is coffee-crazy. And the staggering number of options just grew by one more.

STARBUCKS GOES TO COLLEGE

UM News Service tells us that the University of Montana will welcome a new Missoula Starbucks location during a ceremony on Monday, June 8, in the Emma B. Lommasson Center on the UM Campus.

WHAT IT IS REPLACING

The UM campus Starbucks is located in the former Rise+Rooted space on the east side of campus bordering Arthur Avenue and the Ryman Memorial Mall. This Starbucks is a WALK-IN ONLY, 1,200 square-foot store that will offer the full Starbucks menu, accepting cash, debit and credit cards and the Starbucks Card. UM Dining Dollars and Bear Bucks will not be accepted.

HOURS/DAYS FOR NOW

Hours will be from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. With the return of more students to classes after the summer break, expanded hours are planned for weekends through the fall semester.

There will be five, 15-minute quick stop parking places available for customers in UM’s Lommasson parking lot.

ABOUT RISE+ROOTED

Rise+Rooted historically served as a place between class, work and home where students could study, meet friends, attend small events or spend time between commitments. It was designed to offer a comfortable, localized, and sustainable campus space, featuring espresso and a hardwood stage for events.

The Starbucks space will continue to include communal seating, a performance stage and Rockbot, a music platform that allows guests to request songs played in the space.
