Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - On May 16, 2023, the Missoula Police Department released a statement about a body that was found a few days earlier. Police Public Information Officer Whitney Bennett explains.

"On Saturday, May 13th shortly after 7:00 pm, a decomposed body was found approximately one mile east of the Rock Creek Lodge by someone in the area," Bennett said. "Missoula County Sheriff's Office and a coroner responded to the area and the body was transported to the Missoula Crime Lab."

According to Bennett, Missoula County Sheriff and Coroner, Jeremiah Petersen, has released the name of the man who was found one mile east of Rock Creek.

"The deceased male has been identified as Terry Lee Stahl Sr., 67, of Missoula," Bennett said. "Our heartfelt condolences go out to the family and friends Mr. Stahl. Stahl was reported missing in March by family members and he was last seen in the Rock Creek area in February. The Missoula Police Department would like to thank the individuals who contacted us with information."
