Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - On November 5, 2022, the Missoula Police Department trespassed Kevin Washington from the Poverello Center. On November 25, Washington went to the Poverello Center and threatened a person with a knife.

The victim reported to officers that Washington was behaving erratically and yelling at him. When Washington approached the victim, he pulled out a pocketknife, flipped it open, and threatened to “take the victim for all [he] got”.

Washington also demanded that the victim pay him $500. When the victim turned away to notify staff, Washington did not pursue him. Police Public Information Officer Lydia Arnold has more.

“Kevin Washington is being held on charges of robbery after threatening a victim with a knife and causing fear of bodily injury while making statements demanding money from the victim at the Poverello Center,” Arnold said. “Officers on the scene spoke with witnesses and all parties involved and observed the involved weapon. Washington was taken into custody without incident.”

According to court documents, the victim reported that the pair used to live together in the victim’s van and that theft of property inside the van had occurred recently. Washington allegedly blamed the victim for the loss of his property.

An officer reviewed the Poverello Center’s surveillance footage which corroborated the victim’s version of events.

Washington is currently being charged with felony aggravated burglary. On November 28, 2022, Washington made his initial appearance in Missoula Justice Court. He was released from the Missoula County Detention Center at 5:08 p.m. that same day.
