Montanans Get Excited For Most Important Date Of The Year
Hunters get ready!
April 1st is almost here and that means it's time to get all your hunting gear all cleaned up and ready. Go and buy the newest hunting gear, tell your spouse or significant other that the new camo is an absolute must, and it will help with the hunt, right?
This is your reminder that you can apply for your deer and elk license on APRIL 1ST.
You can stop by the Montana FWP (Fish, Wildlife, and Parks) offices to apply for these licenses Monday through Friday 8 AM - 5 PM if you would like to apply in person. Otherwise, you can easily download the MyFWP App and have all of your permits, licenses, and other hunting-related information on your phone with you at all times.
The good news is, the MyFWP app will work even if you DO NOT have phone service. This is incredibly handy, especially after you have tagged the kill of a lifetime and need to, by chance, show your license. You can just pull out your phone, show your legal documents, and be on your way to brag to your friends.
General deer and elk hunting season will start on October 21st, and run through November 26th. If this year is anything like last year, there could be snow on the ground by the first day of the season.
Archery season begins September 2nd and will go through October 15th.
Good luck this season hunters!
