Wanted Lake County Woman Had Meth in Missoula
Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - On or about September 28, 2026, a Missoula Police Department officer responded to a request for additional officers by another officer who had just arrested the driver of a vehicle who had an active felony warrant.
Upon arriving at the location on Flynn Lane, the original officer told the responding officer that he had already arrested and secured the driver in his patrol vehicle and that there were two female passengers still inside the arrestee’s vehicle.
Because the driver was parked in a no-parking zone when he was arrested, an officer contacted the two occupants to determine if either passenger was licensed and could potentially take control of the vehicle. The rear-seat passenger verbally identified herself as 33-year-old Lyssia McDonald.
The officer ran McDonald’s information and dispatch advised that McDonald had an active felony warrant for her arrest out of Lake County for a Criminal Possession of Dangerous Drugs charge. McDonald was then arrested and transported to the Missoula County Detention Facility on her warrant.
During the booking process, a detention officer told the MPD officer that she had located a small baggie in McDonald’s pocket. The baggie was clear and contained a crystalline substance. Based on his training and experience, the MPD officer believed the substance to be methamphetamine.
Then the officer informed McDonald that she was being charged with Criminal Possession of Dangerous Drugs. According to court documents, McDonald stated she understood and said that she did not realize she had the substance on her person.

The officer then transported the evidence to the Missoula Police Department and tested it using the TruNarc spectrometer, which indicated a presumptive positive result for methamphetamine. The total packaged weight of the baggie and its contents was approximately 0.19 grams.
