Maybe Montanans can change their luck one day, but the odds are not in our favor, according to these stats.

Everyone gambles from time to time. Whether you enjoy a good scratch ticket, playing keno, or playing poker, people love to gamble. It's a way to earn money fast or to lose money quickly.

One of the most popular ways people gamble is by buying lottery tickets. People buy lottery tickets from companies like Powerball or Mega Millions, hoping to win millions. Some people will spend a few dollars here and there on lottery tickets, but folks spend a good bit on tickets all the time.

Is it worth it? After seeing these statistics, I don't know.

Cheapism made a list of The Luckiest and Unluckiest Lottery States in America, and Montana landed on the wrong side. Montana hasn't had a single jackpot winner in the past ten years.

It gets even worse when you dig into the lottery history and realize there hasn't been one Montanan that won a Mega Millions jackpot, and only one person has ever won the Powerball.

Will this deter you from buying lottery tickets? Probably not. My parents have been playing the lottery for over 30 years but only buy tickets randomly. My brother and sister don't buy tickets, while I buy tickets when I see how much money is in the jackpot.

The odds of winning the lottery are the biggest longshots to win with how many people play and the combination of numbers you would have to get correctly. It might seem like a waste of money, but if you win, you'd be the first person in decades to win the lottery jackpot in Montana.

That would be cool to see.

Are these the trashiest towns in Montana? It's up for debate.

20 License Plates Banned In Montana

This is just a small glimpse at banned license plates in the state of Montana. There are well over 4000 that could be added to this list.

Now why some of these are banned is beyond me. I don't find any of them offensive, that's for sure; the state of Montana has the right to refuse:

"any combination of letters or numbers, or both, that may carry connotations offensive to good taste and decency or which are misleading or a duplication of license plates provided elsewhere."- Montana Motor Vehicle Department

What plates are banned in your state? Hopefully, they are not as picky as Montana.

Top 5 Safest Cities In Montana, 2023

Like every state, there are always going to be a few towns that make us think twice about moving there or deciding where to raise our kiddos. But like I always say, "negative yells and positive whispers". The same goes for crime and violence; we hear about all the drug busts, assaults, break-ins, etc. It's not very often we hear about all the great things right?
Well, the list came out from Safewise, and we now know where the Five Safest Cities In Montana are.
